• First round of voting to determine category winners will take place on @LynchburgCGE Facebook page from November 11th-17th
• Final round of voting to determine the overall winner will take place on @LynchburgCGE Instagram page from November 18th-24th. 
• Winners will be announced on November 25th. 
• Photos will be displayed from Nov. 12th - January 25th on the Daura Gallery google site and will remain on @LynchburgCGE for viewing. 

States (only photos taken in the U.S.): Submit a photo that shows global engagement and encountering difference within the United States. This is the perfect category for international/exchange students to share highlights of their experience in the United States or for students that have participated in a domestic study away experience. 

Stories (only photos taken abroad) : Submit a photo taken abroad that tells a story about your global experience and/or what global engagement means to you. This could be about a particular activity or experience that you had abroad, how an opportunity or challenge shaped your intercultural understanding or development, how your actions affected those around you, or other moments of engaged learning.

Scenes (only photos taken abroad): Submit a photo taken abroad that tells a story through natural landscapes or urban scenes.

1. Make sure to read the Eligibility and Submission Guidelines below before entering. 
2. To enter, please fill out this google form. You will need the following information: 
   • Your name 
   • Email 
   • Status (Student/Faulty/Staff)
   • Category selection (see below for category descriptions)
   • Program name (if applicable) and/or location of photo (city/country)
   • A brief description or caption (25 words or less) 
   • Photo (jpeg format)

1. Lynchburg students, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited to participate. Center for Global Education (CGE)  staff are not eligible to win but are still encouraged to submit photos. 
2. Submissions are limited to one photo per person per category. In other words, you can only submit one photo to each category and no more than three photos total. 
3. Photos must have been taken within the past two years. 
4. Photos must be original and taken by you. You must have the right to distribute and take credit for the photos you submit. 
5. Consent of every individual depicted in each photo is required. Please do not submit photos of children or others who have not given consent to be photographed if you can see their faces. 
6. Photos can be from study, research, vacation, or daily life both abroad and in the United States. Photos submitted from the United States should be submitted to the 'States category' only.
7. Please use good judgement with submitting photos. Successful photos will show encounters with difference, and engaged learning regardless of location. It is not necessary for the photo to have been taken on an Lynchburg  Study Abroad/Domestic Study Away experience; submissions from personal experiences abroad and in the U.S. are welcome. However, there must be something compelling about the photo. For instance, Chinese students celebrating the Chinese New Year with their Lynchburg friends is compelling. CGE staff reserves the right to accept and reject photos as they see fit. 
8. Submissions deemed inappropriate will not be allowed to enter the contest. If you have questions about whether your photo is appropriate, please contact the CGE by emailing global@lynchburg.edu. 
9. By submitting a photo to the contest you agree that the CGE can post the photo to social media and use the photo in promotional materials or for other purposes. 
10. Photos must be submitted via this Google Form. 
11. Use jpeg file format and of high resolution.
12. By submitting a photo you agree to the preceding guidelines.
