Financial Aid

Get the assistance you need!

Studying abroad can be expensive, but there are many ways to make it affordable for everyone. Planning ahead is the key to making study abroad financially possible. There are many funding sources available to you – it’s just a matter of finding a program that fits your budget and resources.

It is important to remember that securing funding requires early planning. Be prepared to invest time and effort in your application. One of the steps is to make an appointment with the Financial Aid Office (544.8228) and obtain more information about student loans.

Creative Fundraising

Your energy, and enthusiasm – and your creative approaches to funding – for an international experience will be rewarded!

  • Ask for financial gifts or loans instead of holiday or birthday gifts.
  • Write a letter to all your relatives, asking for financial support in exchange for monthly letters while abroad, or a presentation and dinner when you return. And be sure to keep careful records of who supported you so you can thank them.
  • Ask friends and siblings to join you in raising money by painting, cleaning, or washing cars.
  • Collect used books, CDs, etc., and have a sale.
  • Save!
