What is Included: Estimated trip fee includes: international airfare, ground transportation, housing, most meals in-country, entry fees to program required sites, tour guides, tips, 24 hour assistance, and international insurance for medical emergencies, accidents, evacuation and repatriation.

*Estimated trip fee may change due to fluctuating cost of airfare, foreign currency exchange rates, and number of students enrolled in the trip.

*$250 non-refundable deposit is required by the deadline listed on the left side of the page. This is credited towards the overall trip fee. The deposit is refundable only if the university cancels the trip.
What is not Included: Tuition, passport fees, vaccinations, visa application fees (if applicable), extra luggage fees (if exceeding airline allowance), trip insurance, some meals (see itinerary) while in-country and during travel to-and-from study abroad destinations, spending money of personal nature such as, but not limited, to phone service, laundry, souvenirs, bank transaction fees, etc.).
Estimated Costs: Tuition is billed separately and per credit hour. Summer term study abroad course enrollees receive the Experiential Learning Grant (ELG), which provides 50% off tuition.

Program Description

HP 377 - Introduction to Global Health

Acquire practical skills in disease intervention and prevention, human resource management, and program management. Students will interact with local Ugandans through feeding programs, health education, and sports outreach. While there, participants will explore the health priorities in developing countries and examine the conveyance of community health education in Africa.
