ENGL 377 & HIST 377 Explore the myriad cultures of South Africa, the complexities of the recent history of colonial and apartheid systems, and the lingering impact of that recent history on present-day South Africa. Students will learn from local experts and journey to some of South Africa's most prominent sites including the Apartheid museum, Nelson Mandela's home, and Robben Island. Participants will also enjoy visits to two nature reserves, whale watching, and a safari along the Garden Route - all while being immersed in and experiencing the beauty of the country, culture, and people of South Africa.
