What is Included: The estimated trip fee includes: international airfare; ground transportation; housing in shared hotel rooms; meals listed on the itinerary; entry fees to program required sites; tour guides; 24 hour assistance; international insurance for medical emergencies, accidents, evacuation and repatriation.

$250 non-refundable deposit is required by the deadline listed on the left side of the page. The deposit is refundable only if the College cancels the trip.

Estimated trip fee may change due to fluctuating cost of airfare, foreign currency exchange rates, number of students enrolled in the trip.
What is not Included: Tuition, passport fees, visa application fees (if applicable), extra luggage fees (if exceeding airline allowance), trip insurance, some meals (see itinerary) while in-country and during travel to-and-from study abroad destinations, spending money of personal nature such as, but not limited, to phone service, laundry, souvenirs, bank transaction fees, etc.).
Estimated Costs: Tuition is billed separately. Per credit cost is $490. With the Experiential Learning Grant applied (50% off tuition), tuition for 3 credits is $735.
Program Description

COMM 251 Intercultural Communication (3 credits) Study Abroad in Madrid, Seville, and Barcelona. Students will have the opportunity to study and apply directly the conceptual tools studied in the course to understand culture, communication theory, how culture influences communication, and the process of communication between people from different cultures, including the rules and norms relating to verbal and nonverbal language. Values and communication systems of the U.S. will be compared and contrasted with values and communication systems in Spain between Central, Southern, and Northern regions.
