ENGL 377N – An Exploration of British Drama This course will introduce students to the scope and range of British drama from the beginnings of its modern form (in the Renaissance) to the present, focused in particular on its performance in the context of London as a capital of world theatre. ENGL 377X – Travel Writing in London This course will give students the opportunity to use writing as a way to explore a place, London. Students learn the city of London while reading texts and writing essays that ask them to view the city from a variety of perspectives. Travel writing has some special features that will shape both the content of the work for this subject. In addition to peering through historical, literary, culinary, and sociological lenses, we will also consider the differences between travel and tourism.
