What is Included: International airfare, ground transportation, housing, some meals, entry fees to planned activities, emergency medical insurance, guides. 50 percent tuition for 3 credit hours.
What is not Included: Passport, some meals, 50 percent tuition, airline imposed baggage fees, expenses of personal nature.
Estimated Costs: Tuition is billed separately. Per credit cost for summer term will be released the beginning of March 2017. Students enrolled in a study abroad course during the summer term are eligible for the Experiential Learning Grant which provides 50% off tuition.
Program Description

• Immerse yourself in Japanese language and culture as you explore bioethical issues in life sciences.
• Travel through one of the world’s most fascinating metropolises, historic cities steeped in tradition, and some of the most pristine natural areas of Japan’s main island.
• Learn and apply field research techniques as you participate in a research project on waterfall climbing fish, an evolutionary marvel that has long been personally studied by the Emperor of Japan.
• Develop cross-cultural competencies, lasting memories and life-long connections.
