Students enrolled in the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program will have an opportunity to engage in an international and collaborative service trip to Guatemala. The weeklong trip is scheduled for March 9-16, 2019. The DPT team will be led by Dr. Gary Austin. Provide physical therapy services in Antigua and surrounding local villages and communities. GOALS: Facilitate a comparative exposure to various health care delivery models Enhance cultural competence Provide exposure to expansion of professional roles Engage in interdisciplinary work in an intercultural context Make a direct, immediate and lasting contribution to the local community Contribute within and across the community of knowledge
